GERI provided expert review of
EPA’s Reference Guide on Public Participation in the Permitting
Process. The primary audience is regulators in major EPA permitting
programs. GERI developed and delivered a policy report providing
technical comments on regulatory gaps, effectiveness, best practices
in dispute resolution and public participation, and community and
Tribal involvement strategies.

GERI designed and drafted policy
guidance for the Federal Highway Administration on community
involvement in the National Environmental Policy Act process,
building transportation infrastructure and transportation decisions.
· GERI
provided consulting services and technical support to build the
capacity of Southwest Organizing Project’s statewide affiliate
organizations in policy advocacy campaigns involving federal laws,
regulations and policies, and the decision-making process in federal
agencies, the Executive Branch and Congress.

GERI provided technical
assistance to the National Black Environmental Justice Network on
environmental impacts, public health and children’s health to
support planning the Network’s national legislative and public
policy summit on Black health issues convened in the fall of 2003.
·
GERI provided technical
assistance to PG&E, conducted research, analysis and designed
criteria for screening and evaluating facilities and sites in ways
that will address environmental and community priorities, determine
relevant issues, identify potential redevelopment opportunities, and
opportunities for collaboration with communities.
